Re: “CVS and Walgreens have wasted more vaccine doses than most states combined,” May 3:
It was a dumb idea to give them vaccines to begin with. The problem wasn’t lack of distribution points, it was lack of doses available. Most counties opened mass vaccination sites and could have vaccinated more people had they had these doses that were wasted by drugstores.
Re: ” ‘Arlington Park Bears’ creeps back into the conversation,” April 28:
Don’t worry, if the same quarterback coach is the site selector, it will be incomplete, fumbled or intercepted.

Why will this horrible idea not go away? Has to be some kind of ongoing conversation between the McCaskey and Duchossois families at some tennis club on the North Shore. Sweaters around their necks. “I have an idear.”
Then watch the NFL put a second team right back into the city once the Bears move to the suburbs. #chicagojaguars
Arlington Park Racecourse is a very unique location for everyone. It shares a lot of memories. It would be sad to see it go.
Even the sports teams are leaving the city!
Like the Fire who left Bridgeview and broke their lease early to come back to the city?
Park District lease is coming up in 2026 or 2027; must start making plans now. Need a stadium with larger capacity and more year-round functionality which is team owned. Lot of revenue left on the table (naming rights, Super Bowls, etc).
What people fail to see is those grandstands are great for horse racing and nothing else. They can’t be saved. It would actually make sense for the Bears if they can get enough financing to have a retractable-roof stadium. That allows them to have other than football events year-round, host a Super Bowl. They could get out of the way for some other franchise to move to Soldier Field, realizing the city of Chicago doesn’t have the power it did before to stop the Bears from moving.
I’d rather root for the Packers than for a suburban Bears team.

This is pretty extreme, but I understand your sentiment
