Rheaply lands $20 million from Case, Pritzker, Doerr and more

June 7, 2022 by Marita Overfelt

Rheaply, a Chicago-based startup focused on helping companies tackle climate change by reusing and selling equipment, raised $20 million from a high-profile list of investors that includes AOL founder Steve Case, Penny Pritzker, former Kleiner Perkins partner John Doerr and Laurene Powell Jobs, entrepreneur and widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs.

The startup’s online asset-management platform is used by companies such as Google, Exelon, AbbVie and Nicor Gas to share, sell or reuse expensive equipment or office materials. It helps more users get access to the equipment and gives companies a way to cut waste and reduce their carbon footprints, which has become a more important corporate consideration as more investors, workers and customers demand action on climate change.
