CHICAGO (CBS) — Two Chicago Police officers were shot Saturday night in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
Police said the officers were shot around 9:10 p.m. near 63rd and Bell.

Both officers were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, according to CPD spokesman Tom Ahern. Police said both officers were in serious-to-critical condition.

Dozens of police officers gathered at the hospital late Saturday night, and Mayor Lori Lightfoot was seen going inside.
Meantime, at the scene of the shooting, officers were seen actively searching bushes, with police helicopters hovering overhead.
