1400 Monroe, the new luxury condominium in West Loop, is 75% sold

October 9, 2021 by Abbie Falpando-Knepp

Last year, 1400 Monroe won Development of the Year in our annual Agents’ Choice Awards. And now, developer JK Equities has announced that closings have begun at this seven-story boutique condominium in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. Currently, the new construction development is 75% sold.

Commenting on the progress, real estate professional Christine Lutz, of Wolf Residential, said, “We are thrilled to have our first home owners closing this week and moving in. The homes turned out better than we could have imagined and the finishes are superb. Our model home is making its public debut this weekend.” Wolf Residential is overseeing both the sales and marketing of 1400 Monroe.

The building was designed by the Chicago-based architecture firm Booth Hansen, with a focus on aesthetic harmony with the Near West Side’s industrial history — while utilizing modern design. The residences themselves boast spacious, open-concept floor plans, designed planned by the New York-based firm Mojo Stumer. (The exact number of square feet varies, per unit.) Each includes hardwood floors, central air, quartz countertops and a modern collection of kitchen appliances.

Additionally, 1400 Monroe offers a slate of features convenient for urban living: elevator access dry-cleaning services, garage parking, storage lockers, a receiving room and dog-washing services as well as private balconies and large terraces (on second-floor homes).

“We’ve been aggressively working with our partners over the past three years to successfully deliver this project, and we’re so proud to see the excitement of buyers starting to move in,” said Jerry Karlik, the principal of JK Equities, in a press release. “Even during the onset of the pandemic, which is when we broke ground, we never compromised on our promises to buyers and the local community.”

David Wolf, the Wolf Residential president added: “This has been a dream project to work on, and we have been extremely satisfied with the success we’ve had thus far. Now that closings have commenced and our model unit is fully ready for prospective buyers, I don’t anticipate the reserved residences lasting long.”

The property type which remains is reserved, three-bedroom designer homes beginning at $1 million. Those recently released homes feature broad views of the city skyline through large, loft-style windows. 1400 Monroe is also close to both Skinner Park and Skinner Elementary School.

For more information on the living spaces available at 1400 W. Monroe Street, call 312-346-7620 to schedule either an in-person or virtual visit.
