March 28, 2022 by Abbie Falpando-Knepp

Maurice Hampton, Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) past president and owner of Centered International Realty, was recently appointed to the Cook County Land Bank Authority’s board of directors. Along with public officials and community advocates, the board consists of real estate professionals to help oversee the control of vacant properties, expediting acquisitions for purchasers who hope to upgrade and restore the premises.

A press release from CAR outlines Hampton’s commitment to fair and equal housing: a principle which can inform his tenure on the Land Bank Authority board. While serving as CAR president from 2019 to 2020, Hampton used his platform to promote volunteerism, education and diversity and remains committed to investing in underserved neighborhoods. He also a longtime instructor at the REALTORS® Real Estate School.
